Hi,
In upgrading from Kubuntu 8.10 to Fedora 10 I also moved to a new partition. I did a clean install of F10 and then copied the kmailrc and mail dir, skipping the index files. But when I start a new email I don't see the signatures that are defined for each ID. Replies do not carry the original text, in fact any new, forward or reply that is started only has the To/From/Subject lines, all the text is missing. I would have created it from scratch to ensure no conflict except that I have a massive amount of accounts and filters which would take a very long time to recreate. To verify I created a new login and it works properly. Any suggestions would be welcome! |

Check post 4 of this link: kontact-t-9992.html - take a look at the backup script to check all the files involved.

Thanks, yes I got the requisite files.
It looks more as if old configs is messing up the new one. (I've done this manually over many many distro changes and never had anything like this occur.) |

I got signatures to work, apparently checking it off on each identity is not enough. I had to check it off under Composer setting too.
Now back to why it does not include the original text in replies. I've tried to use Smart Quoting both as checked and unchecked but no text is carried included in the reply. |

I discovered that I could use the custom templates to get Quoted text.
