In the kde 4.3 release notes I saw that "KOrganizer can sync with Google Calendar". But how can this be done. I have been fiddling with Korganizer for a while and saw no google specific settings.
Can anyone tell me how to do this?

You need to install the Akonadi Google Resource, configure it, then enable the Akonadi to KResource compatibility resource.

I am using Jaunty with backports enabled. Would anyone like to elaborate on the configuration? or is it something that just to much for kubuntu to handle?
Well, I am lost.

The Google Akonadi resource is located in extragear.
http://websvn.kde.org/trunk/extragear/pim/googledata/ As a result it may not yet be a part of Kubuntu's packaging.

The maintainer got a rather serious bug report shortly before release and, since the resource is part of extragear and thus releasable outside of KDE's main schedule, decided to fix it and release a bit later.
AFAIK he preparing source packages for distributors this weekend. Cheers, _

So has it been released yet? I can't find any announcement.

Yes it's in karmic as akonadi-kde-resource-googledata
I can't wait for libcal issues Issue 41: supporting all user's calendars and Issue 39: Support instant message for google contacts (for contact missing fields) to be fixed. If you guys have google account you can vote on them, maybe it could help.
