Whenever I click a link within an email, it opens up Firefox as I expect it to, but there are two identical tabs opening. Any ideas on what is happening here and how to go about fixing it?
I'm using Ubuntu 9.04 (Gnome desktop, but with Kmail Version 1.11.2 with the KDE 4.2.2 base libraries.) Firefox is version 3.5.2 Thanks! Les |

In Settings > Default application it is likely you have sth like '/usr/bin/firefox %U'
Eliminate the '%U' part and see if it works better now.

Thanks! That fixed it.
As a side note, I wasn't sure quite whether you meant KDE's settings or Kmail's settings or Gnome's settings, but I decided to go looking for the config file for KDE. The file I found was: /home/<username>/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals In the "General" subsection I changed BrowserApplication[$e]=!firefox-3.5 %u to BrowserApplication[$e]=!firefox-3.5 and suddenly, no more double tabs! XiniX... you da man! Thanks! |
