I have set alt-r as a shortcut for mark all messages as unread.

But in one particular imap folder its giving me ambiguous short cut error. This short cut is working with all other imap folders.

And I have no other short cuts with alt-r. And I use disconnected imap.

I changed the short cut to use shift - r and its working perfectly.

It seems strange that this only affects one folder. Is there anything different about that folder? I can't think of anything in particular that could cause this.

Changing shortcut to something else makes it work for that folder also. Only thing different about thet folder is that it was created after I set the alt -r ahortcut

Very strange. And if you change it back, does it work for all now, or is that one folder still a problem?

Hi guys.
Is there any way to check what is happening wrong. I tried moving the imap folders. I moved all the files to a temp imap folder and there shortcut works. I then deleted the folder and recreated it and then moved back the messages.

Then it started giving same ambiguous warnings again.

Can you check to see if other PIM applications normally loaded in Kontact are using that shortcut?

There is no other alt -r shortcut. What I dont understand is that only one folder named guru-reports have this issue. None of the other folders have. Sounds absurd, but can anyone make this folder and give it a try.

I've asked around about this, and the only suggestion that I've received is that you should check whether the folder in questions uses a different message-list syle than the other folders.

I know it doesn't help your situation, but it was also commented that it's a bad idea to use Alt+something for custom shortcuts, because so many Alt+anything shortcuts are defined within applications.

Sorry I have nothing better to offer you

I dont understand what you meant by different mailist list style. And kontact does not have many alt combinations. What perplexes me is why only this folder.

Don't shoot the messenger! :D For one of the 'good' folders, use the Aggregation button to check the settings, then see whether the 'bad' folder has the same setting. I don't know which settings might cause conflicts, but if there is any difference at all it's probably worth changing them to match.

Pardon me but I cannot find this aggregation button. I have been using kmail for years :(

Hmm - you haven't said which version of KMail you're using, I think. I believe the aggregation button started in v.1.12. If you do have 1.12, look at the set of buttons level with the search bar, on the right. The aggregation button is the second from the right.

Got it :) I never used that feature Got confused.
I am using kamil with 4.3.1. My current settings for problem folder is current activity, threaded. Which is same as any other working folder.

Well, it's another thing ruled out, but it doesn't get you much further :-(
