Kontact: Filtering in KMail

Wed Sep 30, 2009 3:49 pm
Hi

I have a little problem with KMail. I am subscribed to several mailinglists and I have a separate Mailaccount for that. So I created that account in KMail set all incoming mails to a subfolder.

It looks like this

Local Folder
-- Account A
-- Account B
-- Mailinglist <- all mailinglists are stored here
---- A
---- B

Now I want to automatically move/sort the mails from the mailingslists and set them to read, so that mails from list A are moved to A and for B vice versa.

How can I do that?

Add a filter (Settings > Configure filters)

And make it look something like this:

(x)Match all the following
[List-Id][equals][<some-devel.kde.org>]

Filter actions
[Move into folder][Local Folders/MailingLists/some-devel]

You can find the List-Id in the email header (or you could use some other criteria)

Hope that helps!

damn...I am so blind. I was always looking in Settings > Configure KMail since I thought it is an embedded menu into Kontact.

Thanks :)
