Hi, is there any way to use Google Tasks with KMail?
If not, are there any plans to integrate Google Tasks support to KMail? Thanks |

Hmm.
Task are usually a form of calendar entry, often also named TODOs. Does Google handle this as part of their email interface? Cheers, _

After some googling I think there is no API for google tasks yet, but it's on a wishlist.

Remember The Milk has an API I believe, and it works with Gmail via a html script, as well as being a plugin for Google Calendar.
Maybe it could be used to facilitate integration with KMail? Just a thought - not sure of the practicality as I have not looked into this myself. |

I am afraid I still don't understand what this has to do with KMail.
Every hint in this thread seems to suggest that Google Tasks are more calendar like, not emails? Cheers, _

I believe they may be confused with Kontact which does have Tasks, Notes, To Do's, etc.

I don't think it's like calendar, it's more like todo's (it's not time-based). Google allows you to associate these tasks with e-mails. Actually I found it when I was reading mails using GMail web interface and got a mail with some things to do - I was wondering if it was possible to create a Task from this mail and it was (it then showed directly at the e-mail list page as an iframe).
However, at home I use KMail with IMAP to access GMail and also I found out that IMAP itself has support for tasks, so I thought it would be nice if I didn't need to use GMail's web inteface again to see them. And as I don't actually use neither Kontact or KOrganizer or anything like that, KMail came to my mind automatically. I'm sorry for this misunderstanding, please feel free to modify my question to target any of the KDE components. |
