kmail 4.3.4 smtp

Wed Dec 09, 2009 10:23 pm
Hi,after upgrad from kde 4.3.3 to kde 4.3.4 i cant send a letter via kmail.
I get an error message that says:

Code: Select all
Sending failed:
Unknown error
Unexpected server response to EHLO command.
The server responded: "5.0.0 EHLO requires domain address"
The message will stay in the 'outbox' folder until you either fix the problem (e.g. a broken address) or remove the message from the 'outbox' folder.
The following transport protocol was used:
SMTP_PR

smtp server works fine and settings don't undergo a change.

How can i fix it?

Does it work with an alternate email client such as Thunderbird or using Telnet to send a mail? This most certainly seems to be a Email Server Side issue.

The problem isn't with KDE. It is with your computer however.

Code: Select all
The server responded: "5.0.0 EHLO requires domain address"

I suggest you contact the administrator of your network, since it would be unusual for it to not work for you but to work for others in your network if the server was located outside the network ( since it would see the same address no matter which machine you used.
