I used the instructions at http://www.linux.com/archive/feature/122054 to set up Kontact to sync with my Google Calendar. The syncing is only working one way. If I add something to Google Calendar it will eventually appear in Kontact; however, if I add something to Kontact it will eventually go away, not appearing in Google Calendar.
Has anyone had a similar issue? Any thoughts on what I might be doing wrong? Thanks |

I was trying the same thing these days and found searching in Google, that synchronisation with google-calendar is a one-way thing. You can fetch events added in google-calendar, but can't upload to it. Weird and sad.

Install akonadi-kde-resource-googledata and try Akonadi.
Works great for me, in Kubuntu 9.10 with KDE 4.3.4.

Did that already with the same result. Can you tell me what you have done to manage the sync in both ways?

I added the calendar Akonadi as resource by adding after akonadi_gcal_resource.
Then my username from Google and their password.

Ok, if i add the google-resource as the only one, i am able to upload. But if a add another, local calendar (iCal) to akonadi, i am not able to choose the resource of an event anymore, as KOrganizer alway takes the local calendar as recource. That is a little bit annoying, as i have two calendars. One for my own, private events and one to share via google-calendar.
In the settings of KOrganizer i chose to always ask, which resource should be taken, but it doesn't show any effect. //edit: If i add a calendar seperatly from akonadi, i can choose which resource i want for a event. Strange...

I was having the same issue adding an event. I was not able to choose the resource. I did stumble on a bit of a fix though. Instead of hitting OK after adding the resource, hit APPLY and it will ask you to choose a resource. Then hit OK and all should be fine. Let me know if that worked for you.

I do not know why, but to me it works!

No luck here. Hitting apply after adding a event, does exactly nothing. But thanks anyways.

Please forgive the stupid question; but is the Akonadi resource enabled? Is there a check mark in front of it? If there is not then you will not have the option to add the new event to that particular resource.
Just grabbing at a straw here... |

Thanks again for your will to help.
![]() Yes, akonadi is up and running and i also (although it's not necessary) restarted the akonadi-server. But it had no effect. I just configured KOrganizer with my google-resource in akonadi and my private calendar as a local resource. I can live with that. Cheers, Steve
