Hello,

I want to integrate aspell in KMail (version 1.12.4 and KDE 4.3.4). So I installed it with the german package.
After that I set the standard language "Deutschland"(Germany) in the systems settings --> spellchecking.

But when composing a new mail, I need to set the standard language in the Sonnet again because it's blank:

The German spellchecking works in KMail after setting it to Germany :

Unfortunately, the setting will be lost after closing KMail. How can I set it permanently ?

Please check that all KMail related files in ~/.kde4 are writable by your user.

If they are, please file a bug at bugs.kde.org as this is a regression.

There is no hidden kde4 directory in my home dir. I only have a ~/.kde directory.

If I run the following command in ~/.kde :

Code: Select all
find . ! -writable

(show all files that are not writeable by me), then the result is empty.

Thus all files are writeable by me

Yes, I will file a bug but I am wondering if some other German/non-english speaking KMail users are experiencing the same behavior with the spellchecking in KMail.
