I'm using KOrg 3.5.9 with KDE 3.5.10 in Ubuntu Hardy. Never installed the handbook: I could view it online. Now it seems to have disappeared. When I enter the web address in Firefox, for either the html or pdf version, nothing comes up, not even the "page not found" message.
Anybody know what's going on; how can I find and download the handbook? |

kontact.kde.org/KOrganizer now redirects to http://userbase.kde.org/KOrganizer. Gradually many of the old manuals will disappear as efforts go into getting userbase pages up to date, instead of shipping manuals that are years out of date. Eventually those pages will give birth to new manuals that can be shipped with distros, but it's a big job and won't happen overnight. For the moment, userbase is your best bet.

Sorry, I'm a bit lost here; can't see/find any reference to handbook or manual via the page you suggest. Can you be more specific? I'm fairly new at this, and maybe a bit too from being new myself ![]() Thanks, Edzell |

No, it's not a handbook, as such, although a handbook may yet be built from it. Common issues and problems are being addressed on UserBase, so it's worth keeping an eye on that page and its links. If you have specific questions, ask here or on the kdepim-users mailing list (https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-users). Either way, someone will help you.

Hi, Anne(?)
![]() http://docs.kde.org/stable/en/kdepim/ko ... index.html Now that page no longer responds. So the specific question I'm asking is, where can I get a copy of that handbook now? Surely it hasn't been banished from existence? The main reason I switched from W*****s was the way I had to continually upgrade & abandon software I was happy with. I hate to think the same thing may be happening here. Tell me 'tain't so. Wish I had downloaded the .pdf handbook, but who knew the KDE folks would pull the plug on the website. Thanks for your responses, Edzell. |
