First - people keep telling you to remove things and that's almost always bad advice. If you think a file is causing you problems, rename it.
Now to the problem. Check ~/.local/share/akonadi/mysql.conf looking for a line containing 'slow-query' (I'm writing from memory, so it may be capitalised or not have the hyphen, or whatever). It should be commented out as should the same line in /etc/akonadi/mysql-global.conf. This is a change from the old requirement, and fixing it sorted the problem out for me.

Try running "kbuildsycoca4 --noincremental"
If that doesn't work, please move $(kde4-config --localprefix)/share/apps/kontact/ somewhere else.
