I have been using KMail now for a while and really like it.
I have a distribution list that I regularly use of about dozen people. Is it possible to set up a filter so that any email that comes in from the people on this distribution list, gets put into a specific folder? The folder part is easy enough, but is there a quick route to do this other than having separate entries for each email address in the list? -- Vas openSuse 11.2, KDE 4.4.1

A filter can have multiple parameters - set it to use 'Match any of the following' and add the list of people. It's easier for mailing lists such as kde ones or distribution ones, as they have easily identified headers to set, but for a private distribution list you probably have to do it the long way.

I need help with the "execute" filter. How do I reference the current message? to start with I
would like to store it external to kmail, something like foo > usr/local/storit where foo is the character that references the current message, like & or % or * something. After I master that I'll try routing it to a program. John Culleton |

Filter Action -> Pipe Through foo might do what you want. That's how the bogofilter check works.

annew, thanks for the info.
Is there anywhere where I can raise a feature request for this?

Feature requests are reported on bugs.kde.org. There is a drop-down for the level of bug - whether it is system-critical, crash but not critical, and so on, down to Wish. That's where you file it.
