I am running kontact 4.4.1 on karmic kde4.4.1 and lucid (soon beta)and am having a few issues with akonadi_google_data.
One of the most severe is the fact that it does not sync correctly with some addresses. Kaddress will show the email for some contacts but not the rest for example address, tel. / mobile nrs. etc. I have more them 500 contacts and really don't feel like editing every one of them manually. On a side note akonadi doesn't seem to like my system language (swiss german) so I have to keep it in english ![]() ![]() Any help is greatly appreciated. |

Can you please define how Akonadi doesn't "like" your system language? As long as the encoding is set to UTF-8 it should be fine...
Do any of the contacts have the fields that you mention as missing present? ( such as the telephone number ) This might be unimplemented functionality. Is there anything about the email address or other parts of the contacts which don't have the address which may cause it not to be shown?

Sorry for the dely, I was away for a few days.
When I set system language to swiss german akonadi does not start.
Well I am not sure what you mean but as an example: In gmail contacts: Name: Willi Lienhard Mobile: xxx yyyy zzzz (letters representing numbers) Home: xxx yyyy zzzz email: willy@xxxx.xom address: seemestreet 42 citty xxx, Interlaken Country: Switzerland in Kaddressbook: Name: Willi Lienhard email: willy@xxx.com No phone numbers or address! Most of the contacts are synced correctly, but as i said some do not sync correctly. Now I don't know if this only applies to contacts I have added with my android phone or the other way around or if this does not make a difference (which it shouldn't). |

Can you please post the output of "akonadictl start" with your language set appropriately ( as to cause it to fail to start )?
It is possible that the phone numbers may be entered into the 2nd field, which I don't think the Google Data resource supports at this time.

Thank you for the response.
It seems to have been fixed after todays update but here goes anyway:
As to the phone Nrs. Well I have two or three fields: mobile, work and home on a few and mostly all show up, but not on some so I am at a loss as to why. |

That is *possibly* a bug, however I think the Akonadi Google Data resource maintainer will be making a new release soon, which may help solve or alleviate some of these issues ( since it will support multiple phone numbers )

again sorry. If it is a bug that will be fixed I can live with it ![]() |

No problem, the output was only needed to ascertain why it wouldn't start with the language set, which has now been fixed by an update.
