On every Kontact start the Akonadi error report appears (see akonadi.pre). But, if I wait some seconds leaving the error window opened, the entries which were errors turn to success entries (see akonadi.post).
I use the system MySQL service, not a local started instance. ==== Akonadi.pre ==== http://pastebin.ca/1856198 ==== Akonadi.post ==== http://pastebin.ca/1856200

Sounds like a timing error to me. I'd ignore it.

Ignoring it is not an option. I already filed a bug report. Is an Akonadi expert willing to give me some hints on what to do?

Are you sure that MySQL is ready for use when your login commences?

I use the system MySQL service, which is started at boot.
Just yesterday I switched to Gentoo, and I am still recovering my previous Debian setup.

Can you please ensure that MySQL has been started before KDE is started? It is possible MySQL may be part of the same run-level, or that parallelisation of the startup procedure permits KDE to be started before / at the same time as MySQL.

Yes, I am sure MySQL is started before any desktop. Amarok works happily with the same system service. And KDE is not a system service, it does not have run levels.

Amarok and Kontact do not use the same instance of mysql, as I understand it. Each has its own.

KDE is usually started by KDM... which does have a runlevel. It could be possible that Akonadi is being started before Amarok, thus MySQL has had an extra few milliseconds to finish starting up.

They do. I configured them to use the system instance.
Akonadi does not start at log in in my system (I have seen other systems in which it does). By the time Akonadi starts, MySQL had plenty of time to initialize.

Hmm... pastebin.ca appears to be down at the moment, can you please repost the log?
