Hi, I'm having some trouble with Kmail. It's moving all new email to trash. Spamassassin is activated but email that are moved are not marked as spam. I've also tried to set SA to move all spam to INBOX but still all new email are moved to trash. All three accounts are set to put new email in INBOX. It's been working great until saturday, but from sunday (yesterday) something changed. I'd really like to fix this so all suggestions are welcome.
Thanks in advance. |

I can only suggest that you check all your filters carefully, including the SA ones. I can't see any other way this could be happening.

Thanks, went through my filters again and disbled all ClamAV and there it is, all working fine again. There is still the question about how this could happen all of a sudden? I haven't touched the ClamAV or filter settings. And Clam is standard setup, just installed through Yast and enabled with the Kmail wizard.
Not that it's that important but if anyone find the time to help me figure out what happened I'm very interested. Thanks for your help so far. |

ClamAV? Or do you mean SpamAssassin (which you mentioned earlier)? I haven't used ClamAV with KMail, as it runs on my mail server instead, but this does seem very strange. I think it must be a distro package bug. Since you mention yast, I presume that means OpenSuse. They certainly should be told about it.

No, I mean ClamAV. I know it's not necessary but I have had it installed for some time, mainly for testing. I haven't messed any with the ClamAV settings yet so I'm gonna make sure the problem isn't sitting on my chair first (that might very well be the case)
![]() Yes it's openSUSE, I'll open a post there too. Thanks for your help. |

I don't think its distro specific. Because I can confirm the same problem on Fedora 13. I faced it on Fedora 12 and hence forced to use Evolution.
After waiting a lot after F13 release, I tried KMail again on yesterday. But I got the same result. I don't use any anti-virus or filters. My system is much like default F13 with KDE on it. No special configuration of firewall. All my mails simply transfered to trash! This is just so troubling that I am now afraid to use it again. |

I haven't a clue what's causing your problem. I'm using OpenSUSE now and Fedora 13 on another laptop (and on this one until last week) and I've not seen that problem on either. Have you tried renaming kmailrc and letting a new one be created?

Initially I was reluctant to follow your advice because last two times when I tried KMail, it was brand new setup.
I mean, I tried setting my account with new installation of F12 and F13 and failed on both. But today when I simply renamed kmailrc and recreated the accounts, everything is fine so far(or so it seems ![]() I don't know why this miracle happened to me. ![]() Thanks for waiving your wand annew........ ![]() ![]() |

Glad it solved it for you. Sadly it seems that you sent your problem to me
![]() ![]() I've been using KMail since 2002 and never seen this problem before. Time to search bug reports, to see if this is already within the system.

I didn't get your point. Do you mean that I sent PM to you? If yes, then I am extremely sorry for that. I didn't mean to do that. This may have happened because I don't use forum very often. As per as bug reports are concerned, there are a few bugs which I found by searching 'automatically delete' keyword for KMail. But all are marked as duplicate of some other bug which I dont understand(since I am not a developer/programmer/..... ![]() |

No, I was joking. Unfortunately, I had just experienced the same problem, for the first time in the 8 years I've been using KMail. You may like to add comments to https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=236775
