Hello,

I habe a fresh Kubuntu 10.04 installation (it was just released) and try to sync Akonadi with Google Contacts and Calendar. The appropiate plugin is installed and the ressources are configured. However:

- The adressbook syncs only a fraction of the information of each contact. Street address is never synced, one phone number, sometimes email.

- In KOrganizer repeating events are ignored alltogether.

Anyone knows something about these problems? Because in this state it is plain unusuable.

Thanks,

Florian

I don't think it works. I'm trying the same as you.

With Google Contacts I can just read the information and with Calendar it almost works completely (read/write).

Acording to the readme of the source code:

=== Restrictions ===

Only the main calendar is supported, there are some missing fields
in contacts and recurrent events are not supported.

So I suppose that the fields missing are the ones that you refer...

Well, some missing fields is a bit of understatement. Its rather that only some fields are synched, all other fields are discarded.

Hi there,

I've just moved to kunbuntu 10.04 and thought it was a good time to try KDE-PIM.
Unfortunately, I am experiencing the same problems as Horus :

1) Only part of the information of my google contacts have been sync with Kadressbook. Event worse, some information did not end up in the correct field into my Kadressbook. ( Personal phone becomes professional ... )

2) I also tried the Calendar and as SyncMaster mentionned, only the main calendar is support.

It is too bad because I was very impressed by the quality of those softwares. Those few details make them impossible to use.
My question is : For all long will we have to use Mozilla applications ? Nothing against them but I usually prefer KDE's ones

There is a new calendar resource based on CalDAV included in the release that will be KDEPIM 4.5 (expected around KDE SC 4.5.1).

I heard that it should work better than the Google resource since it is actively worked on while the Google resource developer currently has not time available

Cheer,

I can only concur with the above. my gcal desn't sync at all when I ad / edit / delete an entry from within Kontact.

Am using thunderbird 3 for that. ciomplicated but doable.
