Okay, there's got to be a way of doing this...but I'm stumped as of how.
It's easy enough to search for e-mails with attachments, but can that be fine-tuned somehow? The search-criteria "has an attachment" returns in excess of 33,000 e-mails (and many of those are probably just winmail.dat files remaining since I converted my old outlook.pst files back from when I switched from Windows). Is it possible, somehow, to say that "I want to find every e-mail with a pdf-attachment", or whatever file-type you may be interested in?

Try the next icon along 'Open full search' and see if you can narrow it down. There is no option for attachment type though.

I was afraid of that answer...I did use the full search window though. I guess I, at least for now, will have to try to remember who e-mailed me that document I need *from about a 100 or so possible candidates...*
I filed a wishlist for the feature though. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=236780
