[SOLVED] KMail doesn't 'see' my contacts - akonadi does

Akonadi is configured correctly. My Akonadi Personal Contacts resource is pointing to /home/paul/.local/share/contacts/ and I have three folders within: Family, Friends, Others. I have contacts in each folder. Within KMail (as part of the Kontact PIM which is what I launch), I can click on Contacts and see the three folders under the Personal Contacts Address Book. Clicking on each of the folders shows the contacts in the Name column, and clicking on any contact in that column displays the contact information in the last column.

But, when I want to compose an email message, none of these contacts are available. If I click on the Select button, nothing is shown at all with Address Book All selected (default), nor any of the others: Default Address, Distribution Lists, Recent Addresses, Selected Recipients.

What's wrong? What do I need to check on?

Resolved. I had to add akonadi-resources to KDE Resources (System Settings > Advanced > KDE Resources) and set it as Default.

I'm having the same problem. Do you mean you added akonadi-resource to the KDE 3 (THREE!) resources screen ("KDE Control Module")? How did you do it?

EDIT: I see the configuration settings lie in the usual system settings area as well. But I still don't see how you set your akonadi resource as default.

I'm running KDE 4.4.3 and Kubuntu Lucid 10.04. If you are still on KDE 3 (3.5.10 ?) I can't assist, as I don't have a 'frame of reference' with KDE 3.

I'm using the same as you...KDE 4.4.3 and Kubuntu 10.04. But I'm trying to set up my akonadi google contacts resource.

Ah, nevermind, I figured out how to do it. In KDE resources I clicked add and it was all straightforward from there. When you mentioned 'KDE resources' I initially typed it in in krunner which brings up a KDE 3 dialog box, which is why I was initially confused.

Nice, great tip ! This should become default when akonadi will become more used. But one question : as far as I understand, kmail will only use the default ressource, is it possible to choose the ressource from kmail ?

Thanks
