Kmail amd HTML

Fri May 28, 2010 1:38 pm
I hope I am in the correct frum. If not I apologize and stand corrected. I have 3 different Email addresses. I get some Emails in HTML which I do not want. Some come with the lettering onthe left of the message box as "No Html Message" and some read "HTML Message". I do not want HTML and thought I hade everything checked or not checked as in the Folder dropdown file. Prefer html to Plain Text is not checked. AmI missing something?

You can only stop people sending you HTML messages by asking them to set their emailer to plain text. The point of telling you that they are HTML is to alert you to possible mischief in the HTML code.

The setting you have checked applies to your outgoing emails.

The "Prefer HTML to plain text" option depends on the email actually having a plain text.

An email can contain more than one content block, some client use this to send HTML and plain text of the mail, so the recipient can choose which one to display.

If the mail only contains HTML, only HTML can be displayed.

It might be possible to strip all HTML from such an email, i.e. extracting the plain text. You could file a wish list item for that.

Cheers,
