KTimeTracker  Topic is solved

Sat May 29, 2010 6:58 pm
NEVER MIND! Geez, what a dork I am. All of the following happens because KTimeTracker is part of Kontact, and already 'running/available' from Kontact. Duh! I feel quite the dolt. :<

OS: Kubuntu Lucid 10.04 32-bit
Kernel: 2.6.32-22-generic-pae i686 (32 bit)
KDE: 4.4.3
Package: ktimetracker
Source: kdepim
Priority: optional
Section: utils
Installed-Size: 1732
Maintainer: Kubuntu Developers <kubuntu-devel@lists.ubuntu.com>
Architecture: i386
Version: 4:4.4.3-0ubuntu1~ppa1

System fully dist-upgraded and current.

The package KTimeTracker fails to launch. A pop-up appears that says:
KDEInit could not launch '/usr/bin/ktimetracker'.

You can only acknowledge this, as there is only an OK button. On my system, doing so closes the pop-up, KTimeTracker does not launch, AND Kontact, which I have running on Desktop 2, gets switched to Desktop 1!!

Before this, I had Kontact set to run on Desktop 2 when launched (I manually launch Kontact after logging in to my Desktop) via Special Application Settings > Geometry > Desktop > Force > 2:Desktop 2

I have an open console on Desktop 1. If, from there, I attempt to launch KTimeTracker with:
Code: Select all
ktimetracker

I'm immediately redirected to Desktop 2. KTimeTracker does not start, but Kontact doesn't get changed and put on Desktop 1. Returning to the console on Desktop 1 shows no messages or errors at all.

What is going on here? ???
