I'm a new Kmail user. I set up Kmail to access my Gmail acct via IMAP.

How does one interrupt the retrieval of email?

Of my 20 or so Gmail labels, I only want to access two of them via Kmail, so when I first started Kmail I found and opened the local subscriptions dialog, and unchecked all (I thought) but the two labels I wanted. There's about 200 emails (combined) with these two labels. (I'm trying to avoid downloading mail headers (esp the Gmail archive) that I don't want.)

Now when I start Kmail, it immediately starts retrieving email. After 30 minutes, it's still retrieving. I'm suspicious that I didn't uncheck as many labels as I thought I did, in particular, the All Mail (archive) label, which probably has 3GB of mail in it. But I can't access the subscription dialog while mail is being retrieved. In fact, I can do practically nothing while mail is being retrieved. How can I interrupt the retrieval? Or: where does Kmail store subscription info? Can I edit this by hand while Kmail is not running?

[Edit: it's possible that I had a zombie version of kmail running at the same time. At any rate, I killed all running kmails, and restarted kmail, and for now it's working.]

thanks,
gary
