Hello.I'm a newbie user of kde...I'm mainly interested in install kontact in windows vista ultimate.

I installed the kde (kdewin-installer-gui-latest)...
in the installation process only two versions of kde were enabled for instalation..(one of them the 4.4.0.0 release)...I didn't saw a "last stable" option...so I choosed the 4.4.0.0

When I tried of use korganizer,a message appear
"An error ocurred during the startuo of the akonadi server..."

Just a moment later , the korganizer was running...I tried of create some events in korganizer,just for testing...but I can't create the event because an error happened (something like an memory error) and korganized crashed...

This is the report of the error:

The "moving" of your post simply means that the forum it is located in has been changed. You need to take no further action.

I don't know anything about the Windows packages and how they are supposed to work with MySQL, but on Linux this would be unusual:

Code: Select all
File content of 'C:/Users/NUEVO/.config/akonadi/akonadiserverrc':
[%General]
Driver=QMYSQL
SizeThreshold=4096
ExternalPayload=false

[QMYSQL]
Name=akonadi
User=
Password=
Options=
ServerPath=C:/kde/kde-vc90-stable/bin/mysqld.exe
StartServer=false

This last line usually reads
Code: Select all
StartServer=true

You could try changing that, but as I said this might be correct on Windows and the problem could be elsewhere.

Cheers,
_
