Hello,
I just updated my testing distro of Fedora 13 to the KDE PIM 4.5 RC1 that popped up in the updated yesterday. I had not setup my addressbook yet, and typically use the traditional kde resource over imap settings for my contacts, as that allows my to keep in sync with my laptop. I do not see the option for groupware settings under Misc, in the Kmail settings, and do not find the option under the traditional resources. If this option is going to be deprecated, I'll have to search for another solution to keeping my addressbook in sync. Any help is appreciated. bertmanphx |

I think these IMAP services are a large part of the reason for the delay in releasing the new kde-pim. I think they should return with the new version, but that is not the version that will be in the next SC release

The address book and calendar on IMAP functionality is now done through an IMAP resource for the actual mail access and the "Kolab" resource for the address book and calendar integration.
You can add the first one in KMail and the second one e.g. in KAddressBook. Cheers, _

Hello,
I've been watching the new releases of KDE. I'm running the Beta Backports on Kubuntu 10.10, and also "Testing" on Fedora 13. Having an IMAP server configured, then adding an addressbook using the Kolab choice, does not seem to pull any of the contacts that are saved on my IMAP server as Kolab items. Is this functionality not enabled yet, in these versions of Akonadi / Kontact? Thanks, bertmanphx |

I use this functionality to keep my address books in sync. What do others use? If this goes away, I'll have to find something else as a replacement.
