I would recommend that you install an IMAP server, and share your email using it. It has integrated support for permissions as well.

You need to allow those machines which need read only access to connect to your mail box server. Then you need to use IMAP ACL's ( Right click on the folder > Properties > Access Control ) and allow the user being used on those machines to "read" your mail.

hello i did try it.. uhmm it's good but is not good for us..... because imap is sycns time real that is very delicate... pop3 is calm not danger..becuase pop3 si copy emails from server to pc local this mean is good for server (not touch something to server) ok? i wanted like "Access control for pop3 there is this feature for kmail? |

POP3 does not have any access controls as part of the protocol, therefore KMail cannot offer access control support for it.

ok ir's impossible for pop3 access control ok. but does can "possible" that folder kmail permission only read but kmail from pc-mail can not open kmail because missing permission full... i think can fix o config to kmail machine? because chan fix code (open source) thhat is "possibile", that "impossible is protocol of pop3 right? |

You could possibly adjust the KMail source code to make what you need possible. It will likely be cleaner however to run an IMAP server on your computer and share the mail using that.

You can do that with IMAP if you use the disconnected IMAP account type. Cheers, _
