Hi All,
I'm running Kubuntu 10.4 with KDE 4.4. I've had a lot of problems with Akonadi, but now I got it working with the Contacts in Kontacts. (following this How-To: http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/index.p ... icseen#new) However, at the moment when I check the status of Akonadi, I get:
What does the line with Search Support refer to? And what does it mean that it is "not available"? Also, when I use the Akonadi resource for my Calendar (in Kontact) it crashes quite often... it's the same file as in the standard resource (std.ics). Should this be copied to a special folder as well? (currently it resides in ~/.kde/share/apps/korganizer/std.ics) So, is there anything else I can do with Akonadi? Except Contacts and maybe Calendar in Kontact. Chopstick |

Running 'akondictl status' on my laptop returns
Akonadi Control: running Akonadi Server: running Akonadi Server Search Support: available (backend: Virtuoso) I think this implies that you are missing some packages. Try looking for and installing packages for redland, soprano and virtuoso. Another user last week found that his problems disappeared when they were installed. I can't give you exactly package-names, as they are distro-specific. At the moment only KAddressBook is ported to Akonadi. It's possible to designate your organizer as a resource, but it doesn't actually do anything as far as I can see, at the moment. When the new KDE-PIM comes out that will change.

Indicates a problem with Nepomuk. It is probably not running or missing one of its requirements.
Better remove the Akonadi plugin for calendar right now. It is kind of trying to make KOrganizer access Akonadi, but it has to do this through a very old plugin system that can't do that very well. Right now access through the standard resource is a better way to go. Cheer, _
