Akregator won't display new articles

Hi all,

I've been using Akregator as an RSS reader for years and never had a problem until yesterday morning. It will fetch new feeds, in the "Feed" pane it will show that there are unread articles, but if you click on the feed, no unread articles show up in the article pane. I know there have been updates. Also, if I click on "All Feeds" (where there are supposed to be 461 articles) only 15 articles are actually displayed. I don't know what could have caused this. I tried nuking my akregatorrc and the .kde/share/apps/akregator/Archive directory, but it doesn't help. The only thing I changed the day before was upgrading to the new Flash player. I'm guessing that's irrelevant.

FWIW, this is in Slackware64 13.1 using KDE 4.4.3 and Akregator 1.6.3.

Just to verify that it isn't installation related, can you reproduce under a new user?

I just created a new user (my box is relatively new, so I only had an account set up for me--I was meaning to set one up for my wife anyway). I ran Akregator and just snagged the default feeds. Everything seemed to work as it was supposed to.

I went back to my account and tried again. It appears to get the new articles (the numbers in the feed pane are updated), but clicking on the feeds doesn't show any new articles. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I'm really at a loss right now and would prefer not to have to nuke ~/.kde in its entirety if I could avoid it.

When you nuked the Akregator cache and config, was it running? If it was, close Akregator and nuke the files again.

I'm 99.6% sure it was closed at the time. I can try it again. By "cache" do you mean ~/.kde/share/apps/akregator/Archive or is there something else?

Yes, I was referring to ~/.kde/share/apps/akregator/Archive

Also check for a ~/.kde4/share/apps/akregator/Archive folder too.

I removed that folder and akregatorrc. When I started it up again, I have the same problem. If I look at the files that are created in the Archive folder, they appear to have the data necessary. For whatever reason, it's just not being displayed. Any other thoughts?

OK, I'm a complete, utter, massive idiot.

I didn't notice that something was typed in the search bar. I must've done it accidentally yesterday when I was trying to type into a different window. I want to find a hole to crawl into now. Sorry for wasting your time. Thanks for the help nevertheless.
