Greetings - I'm new to Linux and KDE and I can safely say I love the speed. I began to use Kontact and had pictures sent to me. I ended up opening one picture at a time. Is there a change to make to Kontact so pictures can be viewed as part of the email message and not have to be opened one at a time?

Sure. In the view-menu, select the "Attachments" submenu and finally choose "Inline"
