Hi,

I have akonadi running on my computer (Mandriva 2011.0 with KDE4.5).
It seems to run all right because it downloads mails from my pop3 servers. (mails desepears from the server when checking the mails with kmail2: so they should be somewhere in my computer).

My issue is that I do not see any emails in kmail2:

and I can not select any folder in the configuration window to orient the downloaded mails.

I do not have the possibility to select an existing folder neither write the full path of an existing folder. The window is empty and doesn't accept any text.

So... where are my emails? and how can I select a location where to have them.

I do not know if it is a kmail2 configuration issue and something more serious in my OS.
I would really appreciate if you could help me to solve the issue.

If you open KMail > Settings > Configure KMail > Accounts, and view the settings of "Local Folders", where does it point?

I also have the same problem. Kmail folders points to right place. Akonadiconsole shows messages and folders. Kmail is just plain empty

Hi,
"Local Folders" points to ~/.local/share/local-mail

I found the solution to my problem:
I just deleted this "Local Folders" in KMail > Settings > Configure KMail > Accounts and recreated the same one. And it worked!!!

It means that the migration did not do its job perfectly...

More over, I had to create also in KMail > Settings > Configure KMail > Accounts a new item "KMail dir" which points on my old mail directory to be able to see them.

Now I see all my old mails. But I can not move them from my old KMail directory to the new one (in ~/.local/share/local-mail which stays completly empty)

Have you tried copying the emails inside KMail?

One way of doing it is in Akonadi Console > Browser.
Read the Danger signs with this tool!!
However (for me) the folders cannot be copied from "KMail Folders" to "Local Folders" with the drop down commands. I have to use "copy folder" and then go to "Local Folders" and select "Paste".
(I think) it is then advisable to wait for the newly moved folder to be indexed before rushing off and running KMail - but then I may be imagining things. I have had one corrupted folder (2 or 3 emails became blank) but it may be due to another reason. Akonadi does not seem to like moving folders between Local and KMail; it complains and freezes Akonadi Console. You may have to kill X.
