Hi,

I have been using KMail for a while and I really love it. The layout and look and feel are great. Currently, I am setting it up to send email via SMTP for my company account. It is an exchange server with IMAP and SMTP access.

The settings need login authentication, and I have set that up fine. When I try to send an email, it always get stuck at a certain percentage (50-99%) depending on the size of the email. Generally, the larger the email, the lower the %.. If I send a test email with upto 90 lines, it goes through fine but larger than that gets stuck.

I searched online for a solution but couldn't find anyone having similar problems. Any help would be much appreciated.

Some basic info about my setup:

OS: Sabayon 5.4 KDE 64 bit,
KDE: 4.5.4
Kmail 1.13.5,

I am not sure what other info I need to provide so please let me know if anything else is needed.

Thanks,
Magesha

sorry for double posting.. but it won't let me edit my post..

I calculated the exact number of characters it allows. if I have a 1 character title, it allows 990 characters in the body but no more than that. If I have a 8-character title, it allows 985 characters in the body.. kind of weird but maybe something to do with a 1024 byte limit?

I have sent emails with large attachments, so I don't think it is a KMail problem. While I'm no expert, it sounds to me more like a configuration of the smtp server. I can imagine the some companies will want to control mail usage, and may think that 1 MB should be big enough for most purposes.
