I use kmail with Gnome and have folders with many mails (10Ks) If I move from one to another of these folders to read mails about one cpu in my dual core box is tied up regrouping the threads. This happens every time and apparently at the same speed regardless whether there are new messages. Can anything be done about this? I know I can turn off thread grouping but it really should work faster than this. Or is there a design goal to suit only mailboxes of some specific maximum size? The issue really slows down the whole system while this regrouping is going on.
