Hi All,
I get error message whenever I run Kontact told me that Akonadi not working well because it's not registered at D-Bus in addition to No resource agent found while these error messages not appear at all for other users!!! So I tried to fix this issue by deleting ~/.local/share/akonadi but it didn't fix the issue! How I can reset Akonadi to default values for fixing error messages? ---Error screenshot ---Error log

It looks like MySQL is having serious issues starting up. Is your home directory located at /data, or did you manually change it to store it's data there? If you manually changed it, then SELinux or Apparmor may be interfering in MySQL startup.

It's located at data. After installing Linux I created a new user with home directory in /data instead of /home/new_user because I've two partitions in my hard disk and /data is the mount path of second partition. Here's the procedure I've did to create a new user: System Settings->User Management->New User |

I see. This may cause issues for the Apparmor rules, so can you try disabling it to see if it has any effect?

I agree that this is very likely caused by AppArmor interfering. A developer on Kubuntu had this problem as well when testing a development version on a different path than $HOME/.local This is also know to cause problems when using Ubuntu's "encrypted home directory" feature since this also results in a different path and Ubuntu's tools do not change AppArmor settings accordingly. What I've to disable? Do you mean I've to disable Apparmor? If yes how I can do it? |

I am not running Ubuntu, so I have to guess:
sudo /etc/init.d/apparmor stop No idea how to make that permanent, you might have more luck on an Ubuntu support channel. Cheers, _

hmmmm... I've both things my home directory not under $HOME and I've encrypted one.....wow what I'm lucky I migrated from Thunderbird to KMail because I found Kontact forms perfect all-in-one PIM but since that migration I faced terrible problems prevent me to get the benefit of its options. Do you have any temporarily solution because I hate webmail interfaces? Thx. |

Maybe by creating a symlink from /data to /home/username so the directories appear to be under /home/username
I could imagine that other advanced Ubuntu users have run into similar restrictions caused by the default setup. It is intended to make the common use case easier but might require extra efforts when deviating from it. As I recommended before check with Ubuntu's support channels. There might even be tools to allow users with sudo priviledges to alter AppArmor settings. Cheers, _

Where I've to put that symlink?
Until now I'm not sure that this issue related to ubuntu setup because there is no clear clue point to ubuntu issue.
I'll file a post there but I'm still believe that this issue not related to ubuntu... thanks any way and I wish to get some extra replies from KDE community to be-sure what the reason of the issue, is it a bug or wrong configurations. |

Something like
True, but it looks like the issues caused by AppArmor and Ubuntu is the only distribution (AFAIK) shiping with such a setup. Cheers, _

This procedure didn't fix the issue even it didn't notice any change in error messages |

Once again, this didn't fix the issue! |

Hmm.
Check if file /data/.local/share/akonadi//mysql.conf exists and you have read permissions. Try to open it in a text editor. Cheers, _
