KMail delete confirmation

Thu Mar 03, 2011 11:26 am
I'm using KMail 1.13.5 in Kontact 4.4.9 on openSuSE 11.3 (KDE 4.4.4). I have a "Delete" button on the KMail toolbar as well as the "Move to Wastebin" button. Until a few weeks ago, the Delete button brought up a confirmation dialog but now it doesn't do that anymore. I've looked in Settings|Configure KMail and in kmailrc but I can't find any option to restore the delete confirmation. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks!

I had this happen to me today too. I found in the kmailrc file this

[Notification Messages]
NoConfirmDelete=false

Which sounds correct, but if you change it to
NoConfirmDelete=true

Then it works as before. Seems like the logic works backwards.

My kmailrc didn't have the [Notification Messages] section at all so I added it along with the setting 'NoConfirmDelete=true' but it made no difference! Tried 'NoConfirmDelete=false' as well but again no difference.

Are there any other settings in your [Notification Messages] section?

You may need to completely restart KMail / Kontact after modifying that file for it to have any effect.
