KDE4 seems to be constantly improving, with one exception - KDEPIM. It seems to be getting worse with each new version.
Can I just delete all the KDE4PIM stuff, and install the KDE3PIM? It does have everything I want.I'm using KDE4 with OpenSuse 11.4 64 bit version. |

First beware that certain changes may have been made with installing the KDE4 version which are not easy to restore. You may find it easier to tell us what your problems are.
If you already have any KDE3 programs installed, you can simply go to YaST>Software Managemejnt, delete the KDE4 version and install the KDE3 version as it is in the openSUSE KDE3 repositories. If you have no other KDE3 programs installed, the easiest way is to delete KDE4 KDEPIM and then go to software.opensuse.org and search for it. When it installs, it will also install the KDE3 repository.

Do you mean http://download.opensuse.org/repositori ... SUSE_11.4/ I can find all the KDE3 stuff there, but software.opensuse.org has so many subdirectories and I don't see KDEPIM there. |

It still doesn't have distribution lists, when I look in kaddressbook I don't have any filters to separate the addresses, the list isn't sorted alphabetically, it changes the use of categories, etc. I have 1700 names in my file and I'm NOT going to edit them manually. Up to Opensuse 11.2 everything still worked pretty normally. It doesn't any more. |

There was another post somewhere else pointing out that the way distribution lists are handled has changed; I came across this by accident.
If you search for kdeaddons3-kontact (or just 'kontact') in http://software.opensuse.org, you will find it. Sorry kdepim was misleading.
