Hello, I'm using Kmail 1.13.6 with a disconnected IMAP account. The account has many folders and each time Kmail checks for new mail (either through an interval-based trigger or a manual check) all the IMAP folders are checked. This makes it very slow because I have many folders. I'd rather just check the IMAP/inbox. Is there a way of excluding folders from mail checks? Right now the only way I can limit checks to a single folder is by right clicking on it.
Thanks for the help. B. |

Hello. You had better check out the subscription. You can get this by right-clicking on the account name in the folder view. Server-side subscription means only those folders will be synced for all clients accessing this IMAP account on the server. Client/local subscript means the setting is for this client only. HTH. Thanks.

Thanks jamadagni. Actually, I want to be subscribed, but I don't want to update every IMAP directory when I check my mail. I think the new Kmail2 might support this.

Any more discussion on this? I'm trying to do the same thing. I want to be able to see all of my folders, but I'd like the check for new mail to only look in a few of them. I only deliver mail to a subset of my folders so I know I only need to check those and can save time by not examining the rest.
