Hi,

I run Kontact 4.4.8 (KDE 4.4.5) with multiple accounts.

For one of these, KMail can't stop downloading a list of ~50 pretty old messages (2008-2010) that have already been checked...

Is there any reason for this?

thanks!

Is that account an IMAP or Disconnected IMAP account?

I only have POP accounts...
I don't even know what an IMAP or disconnected IMAP account is...

Please check the settings of your POP resources to ensure that the download only new messages setting is still checked.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
This account has the exact same settings as the others:
+ Keep messages on the server
- all other options of the POP config page

I do not have any "Download new messages only" dialog box.

Have you checked viewtopic.php?f=20&t=95520#p198122 ?
Even though that mentions IMAP, it might have some effect upon POP.

Unlikely to be related, stated versions say Kontact from 4.4 series.

Anyway, for setup where messages should remain on the server it is highly recommended to use an account meant for doing that, i.e. using a form of IMAP.
Most providers that offer large enough mailboxes for that to make sense also have an option to access the mailboxes via IMAP.

Cheers,
