Hiya.
I've already migrated a few machines over and could make everything run as it's supposed to. The latest PC however deleted all addressbooks and V-Cards after I had checked if everything was working (contacts showed up at first). Can I recover the contacts from within akonadi or is akonadi using files stored in: ~/<user>/.kde4/share/apps/kabc ? All files vanished after Kontact crashed trying to receive new e-mails. They got however replaced with new, empty files which is bad. This is the first time I don't have back-up data Any ideas? Arch Linux i686 kdepim 4.6.1 kdepimlibs 4.6.5 |

First - are there still records in ~/.local/share/contacts? If so, create a new resource pointing to that, even if you have to delete an old resource. If not, you should still have your old std.vcf in ~/.kde/share/kabc. You could add that as a resource, then copy all the addresses (drag-n-drop) into the Personal Contacts folder.

Thank you for your quick reply.
Unfortunately there aren't any records left in any of the config directories (.config , .local) The files left in ~/.kde4/share/apps/kabc/ are 0 B -.- |

A shot in the dark, but is this because the resource is not checked in kaddressbook? I had a bit of a scare recently when I thought all my contacts disappeared, but it's just because the new kaddressbook has a checkbox next to a resource that needs to be checked on to display the contacts...
