Trying sending with a POP3 account, suddenly i get this error:
If i click continue sending, then i get this:
My authentication method is set to Clear Text ,not to PLAIN.If i switch to another method i get the same exact error, even if i turn off encryption. Using Kmail 1.13.7 and KDE 4.6.5 on Fedora 15. snapshot11 snapshot12 |

Have you tried asking KMail to automatically detect the used authentication method? Have you verified with your email provider that those are the correct settings?

When i click to check what the server supports, only Clear Text seems available. The setting are the same i use on the Windows partition and in Thunderbird and it worked on Kmail until 2 days ago.

If you shutdown KMail, then verify it is no longer running in the process list, and no kio_pop3 processes are running, does starting it now still trigger the error?
What happens if you remove then add your POP3 account again?

I'm having the same problem. It is not reproducible; i.e. sooner or later the messages will go through. Some will get sent quickly, others take more time, but so far all went out in a matter of minutes after the error appeared. I checked my settings, and AutoDetect is the only connection possibility. PLAIN is the only authentication possibility. Encryption is set to TLS, but if I change it to SSL, it goes back to TLS.

What is the version of KMail that you are using? Are you using ISP/work/similar supplied SMTP server or something like GMail?
P.S.: For future enquiries, it is advisable not to "necro post" (bump a thread that's years old) and open a new a thread instead.

The problem could be the Two-step Authentication that you have activated for your Google account. You have to get a one-time special password for applications. Check your Google account security options for it.
