Actually KOrganizer's just been behaving all-round weird ever since I upgraded from the old one to 4.7. I had an old akonadi googledata calendar that I was unable to delete (right-click > delete > confirm, calendar still there). When I created a new googledata calendar, things work fine, but none of my events ever show up in the summary page, or in the new calendar plasmoid. When I try to create a new traditional KDE calendar, it doesn't seem to work (go through wizard, no calendar shows up in list). I think my configs and such are just borked. Any advice on how to proceed? How can I just reset everything Korganizer related and nuke all previous stuff? killing the configs in .kde is easy but I'm not sure where the calendar folders and such are (presumably in akonadi/mysql)? Can I actually just pop in a mysql console and start dropping tables?

In the bottom left of the screen where the list of calendars is shown, are the calendars you need checked?

Hi, thanks for the response. Yes they are checked and they show up okay in KOrganizer, just not in the kontact summary page.
I've been playing around abit more and I realized that something might be borked with my nepomuk repository too - I noticed that I always get these two files no matter what I search for in dolphin, even if those two files have _nothing_ to do with what I'm searching for they are among the other proper search results. I guess at this point what I'd really like to know is how do I reset nepomuk and akonadi completely as if I've just installed them on a new computer. Should I be asking this somewhere else? |

Ok, let's start with purging Nepomuk. First, close Dolphin and all KDE PIM applications, then run in a terminal:

Thanks. How about the akonadi part? Pretty sure akonadi has a mysql backend so I don't think akonadi's store is a subset of nepomuk's, so to speak.

Akonadi's data store is simply a cache. Nepomuk's copy is used for searching through the data, hence why I suspected it first.
I gather it still doesn't work? If so, is the calendar checked in the lower left portion of the window?

Reporting back with good news It didn't work, but after tinkering with it more I found out that I could now successfully add a traditional calendar, and the events I put in the traditional calendar show up nicely in the summary! So it was reduced to a akonadi-googledata issue. After some additional futile tries to get akonadi-googledata to play nice, I ended up ditching that and following the instructions here:
http://thinkmoult.com/2011/02/21/syncin ... h-android/ to set up a CalDev resource instead, and now I have my google calendar synced with kontact AND have my events appear in the summary and the calendar plasmoid. And all's well that ends well and they all lived happily ever after At least I hope. Akonadi-googledata has always been a little flaky so I hope I don't bumble into issues with CalDev, but for the time being this issue is solved. Thanks for your help Is it protocol here to edit a [SOLVED] tag into the title? |
