Sorry,
i have to re-open the thread; i'm still struggling with some bugs after that 'amarok/ backport'-disaster: First i got everytime i started Kontact / kMail an errormessage, that the signing-key of AOL isn't trusted / verified. "Die Echtheitsprüfung des Servers (imap.aim.com) ist fehlgeschlagen. Das Zertifikat der Beglaubigungsstelle ist ungültig. Dem Zertifikat der Haupt-Beglaubigungsstelle kann zu diesem Zweck nicht vertraut werden." I had to re-install 'gpgsm'; after that i found new keys that i didn't saw before: muelux@muelux-LT6cA:~/LT6cA.cfg/SystemPflege/gpg_conf$ sudo gpg --list-keys gpg: WARNUNG: Unsicheres Besitzverhältnis der Konfigurationsdatei `/home/muelux/.gnupg/gpg.conf' /home/muelux/.gnupg/pubring.gpg ...] pub 1024D/DF1BDDD3 2010-12-05 [widerrufen: 2011-03-21] uid Nazar Mishturak (Personal) <Nazar-554@ukr.net> uid Nazar Mishturak (Mail) <nazar@gmx.us> uid Nazar Mishturak (Software) <Nazar-554@windowslive.com> pub 1024D/833ADAD3 2009-05-31 [verfallen: 2010-12-30] uid Bill Deng (Int'l Department) <sales@viewtar.com> pub 1024D/8EE8C7D0 2009-10-22 uid Kenneth A Johnson <pebmich@comcast.net> sub 2048g/C4E47D92 2009-10-22 muelux@muelux-LT6cA:~/LT6cA.cfg/SystemPflege/gpg_conf$ How can i re-establish the keyring and get kMail running right again? P.S.: In Kontact, i get the message that the certificate-management couldn't be started, at the system settings under 'services (Dienste)' i get the error: 'Kein Kontakt zu KDED': so something deeper in the system? P.P.S.: sudo dpkg --get-selection|grep "deinstall" yields:
So, these programs were lost during that action |

mue.de: I split this part of the topic and moved it to "Office & Productivity" as it concerns KDE PIM, not Amarok at all.
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

@Mamarok:
I could hardly find my reply again ;-( The problem i went into was a totally corrupted system by trying to install a new version of amarok (recommended by sentynel, eventually miss-interpreted by me). So the thread has nothing to do with kontact, it's still a following problem of enabling the backport repositories. Now i'm struggling at all points of the system to get some stuff running again. I think, Apachelogger can follow my trials at best; but i think, he's in vacation ? Would you please choose an thread-title that isn't that much missunderstanding and place a follow-up at the end of the old thread? Please look at http://emuede.pbworks.com/ to understand wy i don't look at installing Kubuntu 10.04 (LTS) again. Thanks in ahead mue.de |

That message indicates issues involving the lack of KDE Daemon, or certain modules it has. Please try running "qdbus org.kde.kded" please, and post the output.

Thanks for replying !
I'm still struggling, meanwhile for some time only at terminal-level with aptitude to repair dependancies; now I've got X11, KDE running again, but the error 'No contact to KDED' arises again. I had also asked for help at http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1842379 (there is a screenshot of my problem), but i can't get an answer 'til now. Your test yields: muelux@muelux-LT6cA:/$ qdbus org.kde.kded Service 'org.kde.kded' does not exist. I found a notice, that i've added the repositories
I tried to get KPackagekit as it was, but i can't verify the signature of that repo? Signing key: 1024R/8AC93F7A Fingerprint: E4DFEC907DEDA4B8A670E8042836CB0A8AC93F7A Loading the pgp-fingerprint and checking with
