Hi,
I am trying at the moment to connect korganizer witn owncloud. Thus I was creating a new DAV-Groupware-Ressource and try setting everything up. Suprisingly this was much less painful than expect. Akonadi detects the resource and successfully identifies the resource. kabc is showing the test users. However korganizer keeps on just showing the personal calendar that was created as default. No other resources visible. If I am using "create new calendar" and setting another one up, it will be shown in "systemsettings", but still no calendar shows up. I actually running out of ideas. How can I add a calendar using a caldav source? Anyone else having success setting up a calendar with owncloud? Running Fedora 15 with 4.7 installation of "kde-unstable" repos. |

I am having the same problem.
Set up Owncloud2 and set the caldav resource to point to the URL listed in the personal section in Owncloud. As with you, the resource says its ready, but nothing but the personal calendar is visable. As a note, we also have an eGroupware server set up and that caldav resource works without issue. So, not sure if its a Korganizer issue or a Owncloud issue, but seeing as both products are from the same parent project, thought this would be a great place to start. I am using Kubuntu 11.10 (KDE 4.7.2 from the kubuntu-ppa) Thanks! Joe |

I think I hit the issue sometimes as well, are there any clues in ~/.xsession-errors?

Thanks for the reply! I will have to check after work. I have been using eGroupware Caldav as a workaround. Should I post my .xsession-errors file here while trying to connect? Thanks! Joe |

If it's not too long, it may be useful. Otherwise, have a look for lines that may indicate something.

Hi there,
I think I finally understood the problem and wants to provide a solution for the others having similiar problems. I am using at the moment F16 with KDE 4.7.3 and Owncloud 2.0.1. It seems like my mistake was actually that I provided a valid carddav / caldav location, but it was not able to find it there. So it maybe was synced to nowhere or not fetching the data stored at owncloud. Try setting up the following davs in akonadi: http://<servername>/cloud/apps/calendar/caldav.php/calendars/ http://<servername>/cloud/apps/contacts/carddav.php/addressbooks/<login>/default/ The login name is the user I am using in owncloud for the daily work. This way, I am able to sync between akonadi and owncloud and at a first glance, everything seems to work fine. Others who had problems, might want to check out if they set up exactly the same location. Else it might not cause any error message and leading to empty calendars / contacts. |

Hi, when using http://<servername>/cloud/apps/contacts/carddav.php as source URL, my akonadi DAV resource finds all contacts in the default addressbook fine. It even allows me to create new contacts, with the pitfall that they are only accessible from DAV.
In akonadi they show up every time (even during a first sync), but no way to display them in the owncloud web interface. With http://<servername>/cloud/apps/contacts/carddav.php/addressbooks/<login>/default/ everything works as expected. CalDav on the other hand, I haven't been able to make work at all. (KDE 4.7) I wonder, is this an Akonadi bug, or an Owncloud bug? (Meaning to which product should I report this issue) Serafean |

I managed to make my ownCloud calendar appear in KDE 4.8.1 by creating a new owncloud calendar using the web interface. For some reason, it doesn't seem to be possible to access the default calendar.

Sadly this is still an issue in actual Korganzer (from KDE v4.4.11) in May 2014:
I checked the connection to a owncloud calendar using Iceowl aka Thunderbird/Lightning plugin. There the URL to the calendar works immediately. Than I tried to add the same URL to Korganizer: I could set all including URL, username and password without any error, but it didn't work. Hopefully this will be done some time.... |

This PIM version is several years old. Recent (we're at 4.13 now) PIM versions had (in my limited testing) no issues with CalDAV/CardDAV.

I had also problems to show my owncloud calendars and contacts in kontact.
The reason here was: In owncloud I had calendars and addressbooks with the same name. KDE was not able to deal with this, while e.g. caldav/carddav on android did fine. Maybe it would work with different ressources, but I just renamed the addressbooks. Maybe this helps. Michael |
