What opens VCard .vcf files?

Fri Oct 14, 2011 2:57 am
Hi,

In opensuse 11.4 I have .vcf files associated to kwrite. I would like to have them open with Kontact/Contacts or import it into a folder called "recent imports". Is there a way to do that?

BTW, I downloaded a VCard and clicked to open it. Something came up and told me that there is no app for it and it asked if I want to install one. It installed evolutiiiion. I don't want evolution.

Anyway, I checked the launch arguments of kaddressbook and kontact and there wasn't anything obvious to import a VCard. Any help is appreciated. Thannnks.

In Contacts, File>Import>vCard works for me.

Isn't there anything useful when you click vCards from Dolphin or Konqueror?

In Konqueror right click Preview>kaddressbook
or
Actions>Preview

To open VCF file of multiple platforms you can use free vCard Viewer. The tool is capable to display all contacts which are saved in vCard including the images. You can read, view & open VCF files in bulk without any hassle.
