Hi,
So I decided to upgrade to kmail 2 and newer kdepim (4.7.2 on kubuntu 11.10) at work, since I got the feeling it was getting a little less buggy by now. I lost my contacts and mails, but I half expected something like that - what I didn't expect is not being able to receive new mails. I tried deleting all akonadi ressources, and recreating the ones I need. I now have: - a local mail ressource - a personal contacts ressource - an imap mail ressource The problem is the imap ressource: when it's badly configured I get understandable error messages, but when it's ok, I get a system notification saying "Unknown error (invalid collection name)" a few seconds after startup or ressource config change. And I don't get my mail. Using akonadi tray diagnostic I see I have 1 error in mysql error log:
But I'm not sure if it is related to the imap problem. Also, I tried with different imap servers, so that's not the issue. I'd like to provide more information, but I'm not sure where the akonadi logs are. Any help greatly appreciated, thanks guys! |

Ok, so I kinda solved the problem. For people having the same issue: using akonadiconsole (great tool!), i saw that the imap ressource is scanning for server folders, and subscribes to these. The error was due to an attempt to subscribe the root "/" folder with an empty name, apparently.
So in the ressource setting, go in the "advanced" tab and then server subscriptions. Select the folders you are interested in (inbox...) and you're done: that way it will only subscribe to those folders and there'll be none unwanted/buggy subscriptions. |
