Kmail2 generating >20 copies of each e-mail on IMAP server

I recently upgraded from KDE3.5 to 4.7 (Fedora 16). After the upgrade, I transferred by old messages and things were working fine for a few days, but recently, every time Kmail starts to download new messages from the IMAP server, it starts to generate multiple copies of each new e-mail (>20). These copies are present on both the local Kmail account and on the IMAP server (checked through a web interface). If I don't use Kmail, I do not have this issue.

This bug appears to be linked to unread messages. When synchronizing to the IMAP server with 'new' read and unread messages, only the unread messages seem to expand.

OK. Make that >30 copies. Recently it seemed to be around 33-34ish for the messages.

See bugzilla: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=286703

Do you use any filters?

No explicit filters. I have been playing around trying to train Kmail to recognize certain mails as spam. I had Kmail1 pretty nicely trained. (Kmail doesn't recognize these messages as spam, in case that helps.)

@jajaX

Thanks for the link, but this is a different problem. This is not a synchronization issue between Kmail2 and the IMAP server, but rather Kmail2 behaving badly when it downloads new e-mails.

The only "good" thing, is that I'm apparently not the only one seeing the problem based on a bugzilla commentary.

This appears to be the key. I had been using SpamBayes. Eliminating the filter seems to get rid of the problem.
