Hi,
I have a problem with the alarms function. Suppose, on Nov, 30 at 16:30 I enter an event for Dec, 1 but do not specify a start or ending time, i.e. the event is to occur during the whole day. I also schedule an alarm for 15 min. before the event starting time. Why do I not receive the alarm when I start KOrganizer on Dec, 1 at 8:00? It is most probaly because the alarm is internally scheduled for Noc, 30, 23:45, right? But if the application isn't up and running at the scheduled alarm time it should be understood that the user wants an alarm the next time he starts the application? In the older versions of KOrganizer I was used to receive such alarms for past "missed" events and I found it very useful. Can I switch this feature on somehow in the new version? Regards jb |

sound like a bug, you should post on bugs.kde.org and/or query the kdepim mailinglist https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-users. In the earlier version was this configurable?
I don't know your use case but Kalarm does have an any time option for alarms, using it might be a (temporary) solution. |

Also make sure (you probably have already) that the korganizer reminder daemon is running (in the systray).

If I do Ctrl+Esc I see a program korgac in the list of running processes. This is it probably, right? |

Looks good to me. Also check the arrow in your systray to check hidden daemons - it should be there.
If it is, go for google's bug approach.

It is there. Maybe the following can help. This is the content of file korgacrc right now, i.e. Dec, 7, 12:44. It looks as if the daemon has not done its work since yesterday? [Alarms] CalendarsLastChecked=2011,12,6,16,28,40 [General] Autostart=true Enabled=true Position=660,359 Reminders=0 [Incidence-1] AkonadiUrl=akonadi:?item=1235 RemindAt=2011,11,28,10,55,15 [Incidence-2] AkonadiUrl=akonadi:?item=1235 RemindAt=2011,11,28,11,0,19 |

The daemon is "korgac" as far as I am aware. You may wish to try restarting it.

No need to post a bug report, it has already been done by someone else:

Well spotted. But they all concern older KDE versions. With 4.7.4 coming out any day (today even?) my 4.7.3 is old, too. As soon as I get the new one I'll try and reproduce (if I remember
![]() Ha! Just tried to update and am downloading 4.7.4 as I write. EDIT: Okay, 4.7.4 is there but I forgot that I can't really reboot until the weekend. Oh well, any other volunteers out there?

Having started this thread I would love to volunteer. But I am sort of computer-illiterate and afraid to ruin my installation ...

Maybe I have a hint where the bug is. When I click the korgac daemon I am given a little window. There is an option "An alle später erinnern" (German) which is something like "always remind later". But this option is in light-grey and you cant switch it on or off...
