Hello,
I'm running KDE 4.7.3, on Kubuntu. Using the default settings of the Anti-Spam wizard, seems to not be functioning, letting tons of spam through to my inbox. I've tried the setup using both SpamAssassin and SpamBayes, and both of them together. I've gone into the advanced settings on the filters, and removed the "run on manual check" tick, so that it should run each time an email comes through. It seems to filter the emails if I select them manually and call them "Spam". Any thoughts? Thank you, bertmanphx |

Are you using POP or IMAP (and if the latter, disconnected or not?)?

This machine receives all email via POP.

The distinction between normal and POP filters has gone away in KMail 2. As I use IMAP it is a little difficult for me to reproduce the problem. Can you confirm that mails *are* flagged as spam even if they land up in the inbox?

Well,
Something is adding the text "spam detection software on (machine) has tagged this message as possible spam......" So, I added my own rule that is the message contains the word "spam", to move it. Upon finishing that dialog, it move all of them. I know there is already a rule similar to that. I'll see if it works properly today while I'm at work. bertman |

Well,
That didn't work. It threw ALL email into the spam folder! |

It looks to me like a classification problem rather than a filtering problem: the fact that your stuff was (wrongly) moved to Spam means the filter is moving messages as intended. Can you try filtering by headers, such as the ones added by Spamassassin?
The reason it didn't work is because Spamassassin adds a Spam header with YES or NO, and such your "spam" search would get both.

Hello,
I just deleted the rules, and went through the wizard. upon completion, it checks all mail in the the inbox. I filters at that time, and it takes a while. it just seems that the filtering does not take place automatically.... |

I would suggest you write the kdepim-users@kde.org mailing list, as perhaps there might be more insight from POP users (as I said, I'm mostly taking guesses, as I'm using IMAP).
