Resource KMail Folders is broken

Sun Jan 29, 2012 4:40 am
What does this mean? I keep getting it when I check for mail and I'm not receiving any mail.

Please open KMail > Settings > Configure KMail > Accounts > Recieving. Select "KMail Folders" then select Modify. Ensure the location indicated exists on your computer. It should be something like ~/.kde4/share/apps/kmail/.... (where .... is dependent on your computer). It could also be ~/.kde/ (this is dependent on your distribution - I do not know what Arch does).

hmm, now I don't have any errors, and no error messages when I 'check mail,' but I am not receiving any new mail again.

Does Akonadi note anything of interest into ~/.xsession-errors?
Also, can you check that the Local Folders resource points to a valid folder, which it has permissions to modify?

the local folder seems good. i get
Code: Select all
request for item 55493 "524" failed: "Unable to retrieve item from resource: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken."
ItemRetrieverException :  Unable to retrieve item from resource: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.
posting retrieval request for item 55493  there are  1  queues and  0  items in mine
request for item 55493 still pending - waiting
processing retrieval request for item 55493  parts: ("RFC822")  of resource: "akonadi_imap_resource_3"

It seems that Akonadi is having some internal trouble. Can you please ask about this on the kdepim-users@kde.org mailing list which is frequented by some developers - as they may have a better idea about why this is broken.
