Contacts in "to" field not suggested after upgrade to 4.8

After upgrading KDE to 4.8 I don't get any suggestions for my e-mail recipients anymore when I start typing a name in the "to" field.

In 4.7 I only got these suggestions after I fully typed their last or first name but now I have to click on "select" in the "to" field and only there I can choose the contacts.

I have all these contacts in an akonadi based vcard folder.

Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot that problem?

Have you looked at the "Composer" section of Settings to see if you have "Use recent addresses...." checked?

Yes, and that is set as well.
If I already used an address it does show up as suggestion but before that it used the akonadi based address book to make suggestions as I started to type. That doesn't work at all anymore and I have about 250 addresses in my address book.

Unfortunately this is a known issue. Did this work for you with an Akonadi based system with 4.7?

It did work to that extent that I had to enter the full name last name and then the person would show up.

In 4.8 it seems as if no contacts in any addressbook are used.
Only the ones I typed manually before.

Could you point me to the bug on kde.bugs.org or is it a known issue with no bug report?

As far as I am aware there is no bug report - however due to the type of issue it is there is bound to be bug reports already - I would recommend performing extensive searching on bugs.kde.org prior to filing a report.

@bcooksley: Do you know of any workaround? I've had this issue for a long time. Thanks!

I would like to add myself to the list of people with that problem. Is there a way to solve this problem? Or will it be solved with kde 4.8.1?

I am not aware of any potential workarounds unfortunately.
