Kleopatra Pinentry

Thu Feb 02, 2012 6:53 pm
I am a novice with this information, but our company just recently installed Kleopata for our GPG encryption needs. We only use it to encrypt files to transfer via FTP.

Whenever I attempt to decrypt a file the pinentry dialogue comes up. I would like it to store our passphrase so we don't need to type it in each time. I am not familiar with how to do this. I keep reading about the GPG AGENT and I just get confused.

Can anyone explain how to store passphrases using Kleopatra in order to decrypt files?

As part of what was installed, was Gpg4Win also installed? (I suspect it will have been)

If it has, then it should contain a GPG Agent. Once a GPG Agent is running on your computer, it should take over from the Pinentry dialog and remember your password after you have entered it for the first time.
