Since today, kmail has a new error message. I get this all the time when trying to get emails:
Unifr: Error while trying to get the local inbox folder, aborting mail check. Unknown error. (Timeout trying to get lock.) what is going on? what lock? how can i fix it ? (fast) EDIT: And why does this message even come when kontact is closed? Does it check emails even if kmail is not open? |

Actually it just becamse worse. All my mail accounts throw an error now:
GMail: Error while trying to get the local inbox folder, aborting mail check. Unknown error. (Failed to fetch the resource collection.) Login out and in again does not help. I need a fix asap. Is there some kind of "autorepair" command for kmail2? |

Akonadi will still perform some checks on your email - as it continues to run even though Kontact/KMail have been closed.
However, I do recall the developers adding functionality which was supposed to switch the POP/IMAP resources to Offline mode when KMail/Kontact was closed - so this would not occur. It sounds like Akonadi is having problems either accessing the accounts - or having problems with it's internal database. Is there any sign in ~/.xsession-errors of the type of problem Akonadi is having?

Sorry, the problem disapeared suddenly. Now i'm afraid that it can come back at any moment. Its not my computer, but my girlfriends computer that has that problem, which means i have to debug those problems often during the day from work trough a chat window

Not a problem. It seems that Akonadi has sorted itself out
