Kmail 4.7.3 / KDE 4.8 / opensuse 12.1

When trying to send message through smtp.gmail.com (yes user, password is OK) I get "There were problems trying to queue the message for sending: Unknown collection."

Migrated from opensuse 11.4 with non-akonadi-kmail, but have more or less migrated the emails and much of the settings by hand, however I was not able to make kmail not remeber all settings.

I have all my emails in "Kmail folders" downloaded from gmail with pop3. "Local folders" are empty.

why aren't you using Kmail 4.8.x ? it's in the 48 repo http://download.opensuse.org/repositori ... .1/x86_64/

not that that's your problem but it seems your install is not quite right

I'm using the standard kmail which comes with KDE 4.8. Kmail versions isn't entirely clear to me. Is the latest version 2.x?

Anyway I'm quite sure this is not the cause of this problem.

no idea if it is your problem but as I am running openSUSE 12.1 KDE 4.8 and I have Kmail 4.8 which is what is in the 48 repo, why yours is 4.7.3 may indicate you have problems with your install

KMail 2, is the port of KMail to the Akonadi PIM framework

Does your "Local Folders" tree have a "Outbox" or "outbox" folder?

Both "kmail folders" and "local folders" has an "outbox" folder (lower case "o").

Okay, it seems that Akonadi for some reason cannot find those folders. Please try asking on the kdepim-users@kde.org mailing list - as people there may know how to correct the needed Akonadi settings (I think it requires editing a configuration file)
